Moving and hilarious
Here's a story that every parent can relate to and has lived personally but the observations and humorous quirks that rick brings to the book make it good fun and also poignant. There were a lot of very clever devices utilized: musically, technically and in staging that made it visually and aurally engaging. Some of the songs' lyrics and rhymes were absolutely brilliant with music to match. The ending left us all talking about it afterwards and the last song's melody was stuck in my head the rest of the evening. This performance leaves you wanting to see the full production. Bravo rick!

A TOWERING & entertaining bit of Mpls history!
I just loved this show -- the music was catchy and period-perfect, and, for the most part, really well sung, especially by the protagonist. The classic story of greed getting the better of many men is twisted and nuanced in this particular, fascinating story. We learn that Wilbur Foshay may have been more of an over-amped optimist than a shyster, but in any case, what he dreamed of and created right here in Mpls was at one time a largely heralded American success story that unfortunately landed him in Leavenworth for getting out over his skis a bit too far, mostly due to very bad timing. I think this musical should be seen by every history loving resident of the Twin Cities, it tells the incredible story of what was and still is an amazing marvel we have in our own backyards, and of the (wannabe) titan of industry who made it happen. Bravi Kevin & Lynn!! (I would also highly recommend a visit to the tower's own museum, observation deck and Prohibition bar on the upper floors for an unforgettable, spectacular experience. Make it a date night!)
