Box Office Info

Box Office Policies

Minnesota Fringe Box Offices open a half hour before each show and are located near the entrance of all venues in the Festival. Most Fringe Festival shows last 60 minutes with a 30 minute break in between. Please check individual show pages for any variations in show length and/or restrictions about late seating. Shows start and end on time.

Instead of paper tickets, we use reusable tokens at each venue. You will receive your seat token at the box office when you buy or redeem your ticket, pass, or reservation, then turn it into the usher when you enter the theater.

Our box offices are cashless, so please either bring a credit card/check to purchase, or present your Multi-Show Pass, Show Comp, or Ticket Voucher to redeem. Tickets for specific shows may be purchased online until midnight the day before a performance, or at the venue of that performance starting approximately 30 minutes prior to the show start time.

Buttons

A Festival button is your key to DISCOUNTS during the Minnesota Fringe Festival (and so much more*).  A one-time button purchase helps Minnesota Fringe provide platforms for diverse, inclusive, and equitable artistic expression for all. By wearing your button proudly, you not only demonstrate your support for adventurous art, but you can also see shows for less and take advantage of deals around the festival grounds.

  • Present your Festival Button at any Box Office to get $5 OFF THE REGULAR TICKET PRICE or purchase of a multi-show pass at the Information Booth in the Rarig Center. If you're seeing more than one show, the button will pay for itself through ticket discounts.

Buttons can be purchased online until June 30, at any box office, during pre-festival events like Previews (July 21 and 30), and at the Information Booth in the Rarig Center.

*BUTTON BONUS: Festival buttons can also be used for year-round discounts to shows around town. Subscribe to our Fringe File Newsletter to be notified of the latest opportunities to save.

Tickets

Purchase a ticket to promote the performing arts. It’s that simple! 70% of all ticket sales are paid directly to the artists on stage. When you buy a ticket to a show, you, the adventurous audience member, are instantly supporting adventurous art. THANK YOU!

  • Pre-Sales: In Fringe managed venues, 75% of all seats are available for sale in advance online up through 11:59pm the day before a show. You will not receive a physical ticket when you purchase a ticket or reserve a seat online, but you will be added to our Will Call list. Simply give your name to the box office personnel when you show up for the performance. We use reusable tokens (issued to you at the box office) instead of paper tickets. The token is your access to the theater.
NOTE: Some Independent Venues have opted to sell up to 100% of their tickets online due to limited seating availability.
  • Walk up Sales: The remaining seats (25% in Fringe managed venues) are reserved for walk-up sales on the day of the show, starting ~30 minutes prior to showtime. Some shows sell out within minutes of the box office opening. To guarantee that you'll see a show, purchase your ticket or passholder reservation online in advance through pre-sales.
  • Passes: You can purchase discounted multi-show passes or a Fringe with Benefits membership with an all access VIP pass (55 tickets) online through June 30. 5- and 10-Show passes will also be sold at Preview events and the Information Booth in the Rarig Center during the festival (or until they are sold out). Multi-show passes provide access to any show, at any venue, on any day of the festival, provided there is not a sellout, and are transferable and shareable. Simply present your pass at the box office of the show you want to see in exchange for a seat token to enter the theater. If you would like to reserve a seat in advance to guarantee entrance to a specific show, visit the individual show page to purchase an online Passholder Reservation for $5.
  • Passholder Reservations: Multi-Show Pass, Show Comp, and Ticket Voucher holders can reserve a seat to any online in advance for $5. Pass, Comp, and Voucher holders are welcome to take advantage of day-of walk up tickets. Simply find the box office personnel to swipe your pass or turn in your show comp or ticketvoucher and collect your token.

Access Shows

All Fringe Festival managed venues are physically accessible to patrons with mobility disabilities. See individual venue pages for specific information on accessible entrance doors and parking. If you're at a venue and need assistance or would like to remain in your seat between back-to-back performances you are viewing, check with any staff member or volunteer for help.

Fringe offers American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting, Audio Description (AD), and Open Captioning (OC) at select shows throughout the festival. A list of Fringe Festival shows with services provided will appear on our access page in mid-July. Fringe also includes a list of primarily non-verbal or dance shows as self-identified by the artist.

Refunds / Exchanges

There are no refunds or exchanges for missed performances or late arrival. If a performance is cancelled by the artist, we will reach out to folks who purchased in advance to reschedule or refund.

Tip the Artists!

Have you noticed the dollar emoji on some of the individual show pages? That is a button that takes you directly to the artist's Venmo/PayPal/Cash.me account so you can provide a tip** if you want to support them even more! Not all artists will have a tip jar. If a show page doesn't have a dollar emoji on it, that artist did not elect to use a tip jar.

**HOT TIP: You must be logged into your Venmo/PayPal/Cash.me account for those links to work. If you get an error, just log in, return to the artist's show page, and click the dollar emoji once more.
