Clever, quirky, and fun
Through magnificent lighting choices, quirky prop coordination, and unique movement vocabulary, it’s clear this show is a passion project. While I was struck by all of the choreography, the duet in particular stopped me in my tracks. Milo and Claire (Happy Birthday btw) did an extraordinary job of knowing one another. Every movement felt familiar between the two. The vocabulary in general bordered line between natural/unnatural, fluid/ridged, and heavy/lightweight. The use of props was well rehearsed and clever. The lighting choices were unexpected and complimentary to the dancers bodies. The monologues were quirky and fun. The music matched the vibes all the way. Overall, Corpus Dance Works did a fantastic job on this unique piece.
