So good!
So, there's a lot of things I could say about the production. I could say something about each of the 5 storytellers, each one very different, each one making me laugh at least once, nod in agreement at least once, touch my heart at least once. I could tell you that there is a difference between "telling a story" and "storytelling" and the craft of these artists were on full display. I could tell you the show is a good time, cause it really is, (and of course, see above about the touching your heart part). But mostly I'm going to tell you that the part I loved most was feeling that this is what humans were kind of meant to do: to gather and tell and listen to stories about how we are just making our way. It felt like community. I was glad to be a part of it. I hope you get a chance to be a part of it, too.

Loved It! (By the way, I took the fairies)
Some shows are good because the writers connect authentically on a topic that people can relate to. Some shows are good because the writers take the time (and have the talent) to give a unique and authentic take on a meaningful topic. Some shows are great because they are just funny - the kind of funny that comes from clever rather than shocking (which is always harder but more rewarding). Some shows are good because watching the people in them having such joy and connection in being creative just makes you happy for them and happy for you that you get to watch. But when a show does ALL of these things. Then you just feel lucky (and grateful) you got to experience it.

Courage Was Never So Funny
There are two reasons I am glad I saw this production. The first was that I not only learned a lot, but I was inspired to show up with a lot more empathy toward people who are navigating being bipolar AND perhaps start with kindness and empathy toward people who just might be (thanks for the signs and symptoms section). The second reason is it was funny. Really funny. Rob, Mike and Charlie are just good improv talents - they instincts and "asides" are great. I can't wait to see them in the future at their non-Fringe improv shows. But it's one thing to be funny and another to be funny and on-point in your story line. And to throw in rhyming couplets now and then on the way? Good stuff. I give it 5 Kitties, or should I say 5 Wolves. Ahwoooo!
