Impactful storytelling!

Very much enjoyed Kismet! I found the performances by Didem and Talha to be heartfelt and genuine, and all very fun with a meta-narrative framing device and some audience interaction here and there. A few moments really hit harder having the additional cultural context of being Turkish, speaking the language, having family and friends go through the process to live in and work in the United States. But ultimately, this is a show for everyone and you will pick up on a lot of that context as the story unfolds. As a fellow Turkish theatre maker, I am proud to see our stories and culture represented at the Fringe Festival and look forward to seeing more from Tiyatro Misafir! And now I’m really craving some pistachio baklava :)
