lost in this funhouse
There's a ton of craft and talent that went into this show. The acting is first rate, and the conceit behind it--that "those kids" need classic theater enlivened, and even sped up, to be appreciated--is timely and--perhaps?--all too true. I laughed especially at its skewering of professorial pretentiousness. It lacks an ending, though, and the jokes that animate the various solutions to Braedyn's boredom wear thin after the initial laugh. In all, a worthy stab at keeping the theater alive.

a rumor of war
It's been said that war is long periods of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror. In this thought-provoking play, carried by three soldiers on the edge of nowhere, those long periods of boredom are punctuated, not by terror, but by musings on the meaning of life (and death), deep human feeling, and even flashes of humor. It's a heavy-duty meditation on the endless wars that we seem to be sentenced to. Go see it!
