More Information

Earth Beneath My Feet is an evening of modern dance looking at how we stay grounded, connected, and soft with one another as things change. How soft can we be with one another when things feel uncertain and unclear? People should expect to see a modern dance performance that incorporates full-bodied movement and gesture, exploring the idea of staying vulnerable and connected during times of uncertainty. The work draws viewers in to witness the relationships between the dancers and their experience of the movement. The work is created by Mary Willmeng, in collaboration with the dancers. This is the third year in a row Willmeng Dances has produced in the Minnesota Fringe! Previous audiences have called their work "emotionally warm", "intense", "evocative", and that the dance combines "sweeping, spiraling movements with intimate moments of gesture and relationship between the dancers." Another reviewer said "I always try and catch one dance show at the Fringe and this one rewarded me for choosing it." The group was also honored to be chosen to perform at The Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, WI as part of the Fringe Encore in 2024. Mary Willmeng/Willmeng Dances is excited to be back in the Fringe again!
