Cast and Crew
Chris Barron
ActorChristopher "Pops" Barron, was born on the back lot of MGM studios in 1961. He is the illegitimate grandchild of Harpo Marx and Lucille Ball. Seriously, he is a graduate of the conservatory program at Second City Theatre in Chicago, and has been performing improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy for over 30 years. He is making his Fringe debut, and most probably his finale.
Erin Clarkin
ActorErin is an improviser from the Twin Cities making her debut in this years’ MN Fringe Festival. This is also Erin’s first time performing in a sketch comedy show! She is thrilled to bring Minneapolis’ own slice of SNL to the stage and showcase brilliant pieces written by her best friends at Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret. This whole experience has been like assembling some silly IKEA furniture… and you, our audience, are the final, crucial piece we've been looking for. Thank you for being here with us tonight ❤️
Lydia Borchert
Writer/Props Master/Postcard DesignerLydia Borchert (she/her) has been a lifelong artist but her love of theatre started in the (orchestra) pits. Between visual arts, music, and comedy, you could say she is a bit creatively confused- but it’s not a phase. Known for knowing too much, Lydia is currently working on a musical about aliens and an art series exploring the relationship humans have with farm animals. Check her out as a recurring stage member at Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret as well as a regular at her therapy appointments.
Max Mars
Writer/ActorMax Mars has been doing improv comedy for over 15 years, which is what happens when you build your life around “yes, and” instead of a retirement plan. He studied at The Second City in Chicago, but didn’t graduate—he prefers to think of it as “leaving while still mysterious.” Max also performs stand-up and writes jokes for comics, TV shows, and podcasts, mostly so funnier people will keep hanging out with him. You may have seen him on Conan O’Brien—but that was some other guy. His sketch comedy is weird, clever, and just organized enough to suggest he tried.
Caroline Kraft
Actor/WriterCaroline Kraft is a professional improviser, comedian, and actress based in the Twin Cities. She’s lit up stages across the country with her quirky characters, sassy wit, and extreme dance moves. Caroline has been a main stage troupe member at the Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret performing out at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. She’s starred in a number improv and sketch shows with the femme-driven Smartmouth Comedy Co, and appears in “Tommy Gun Trouble” at the Wabasha Street Caves. This is her second MN Fringe Festival appearance, and she’s thrilled to be doing it some of the most talented people she knows AKA her BEST FRIENDS!! Love to Matt and Grizzly!
Aaron Cooke
WriterIn Progress
Mark Nesheim
Actor/WriterMark is a local actor, improviser, and the author of Hot Minnesota Sex Death and You Say Know Me. He’s a quirky performer with a deep love of mischief and hot sauce.
Nate Weingarden
Actor/Writer/Director/Producer/WhatCan'tHeDoNate Weingarden is making his return to the Minnesota Fringe after a three-year hiatus in Los Angeles. He's worked in the Twin Cities Indie film circuit and done commercial work as well. He's most known for not being able to make his wife laugh, but his one year-old son is enjoying every second of his high-brow sense of humor. In his (limited) free time he enjoys going for long runs around any and all lakes. If he manages to have any free time after that he likes to sit down and paint toy figurines. If he has free time after THAT, he fancies a little Netflix, although the documentary-driven algorithms drive him insane.
More Information
Join our journey into the comedy unknown, featuring talent that has years of experience (none of which will actually be used) to cross improvisation with pre-written sketches. The "story" starts out with the creators discussing what their show's going to be about (so meta, I know right?) before breaking into brilliant pieces about pampered mom spa days that have gone too far, pretentious ketchup sommeliers, lezbians building Ikea furniture (Dikea furniture... get it??), philosophy professors working through daddy issues, home sex-ercise routines, and sooo much more. Look for a list of sketches, and the writers/cast performing them soon to come.
Get ready for a night and/or day of high-energy, non-impactful art that is sure to make you laugh. And make you cry. But you'll only cry because you'll look back at how much you laughed.
The Writers Room: A failed documentary.
Sincerely,
a buncha folks
