Processing grief through art
I was moved by this beautiful play. Loved the outdoor setting. Even with street noise, the actors were easy to hear. The cast did an excellent job of showing the many aspects of a tough subject. I appreciated the curated list for help in dealing with grief. Very thoughtful, mature show.

Makes me want to go to NOLA
Great story about following your dreams. The music teacher in me was heartbroken hearing Bremner’s story of all the people trying to silence him, but so glad he is creating songs again. Original music sung in a heartfelt way. Fringe at its best. Go see this show. Also buy the album when it comes out.

Moving and Poignant
Great storytelling. BWJ takes us on a very personal journey exploring what might have been, and how those inflection points inform future actions. Truly enjoyed the second character in this one man show. See it.

Always Fresh
Very much enjoyed seeing Blackout Improv back at the Fringe. Great use of levels! The show opener included musical and dance improv which was fun to see. Shout out to the instrumental musician who underscored the action effectively. Nicely done!

Fun Mash Up
Very entertaining mash up of Hound of the Baskervilles and Murder on the Orient Express. Characters and costuming were spot on. Laughed a lot. For fans of classic mystery this is a must see.

Show: The MacScottish Play
Venue: Phoenix Theater
Witty and charming
The MacScottish Play takes a familiar story and a theater curse and blends it into a delightful exploration of friendship that any theater geek can relate to. The characters are believable, special effects move the story along, and everyone has a moment to shine. Fear not, the name associated with the curse is never uttered in the theater. Highly recommended.
