Dramady + Drag = WINNING!

This was a FANTASTIC performance by all!!! Campy, funny, this powerful story of finding your truest you was a delight. Love triangles, self-exploration, drag numbers, belly-laughs, and poignant reflections all combine to make a wonderful show. And for any of us who have survived - and thrived - conversion therapy (trigger warning of sorts, as it does involve threads of CT), it's a testament to the strength of the human spirit and being your authentic self! Me describing this show to a friend: "It's like a drag show happens in the middle of Mandy Moore's "SAVED" but set in the 1920s when it was illegal to be queer and you absolutely need to see it!"

Company: Orthogonal Productions
Show: Karaoke After Dark
Venue: Theatre in the Round

The most entertaining Karaoke night!

This was a ton of fun!!! The audience members can submit songs to sing Karaoke, and the burlesque troupe members don't know what song they are performing to until they come on stage! It was super entertaining to see the improv routines the various song selections were fantastic (never did I ever think I'd see a striptease to "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid!!)! I even sang, and it was a very warm and supportive crowd cheering me and the burlesque dancer on! I think some of the audience didn't know what they were getting into, so be sure to check out the "More Information" tab for details!

Company: The Blair Kitsch Project
Show: DIVINE/GYPSY
Venue: Barbara Barker Center for Dance

Everything's Coming Up Divine!

This was a FANTASTIC production!!! Heartfelt and humorous, poignant and powerful! The cast delivered a phenomenal take on "Gypsy" that makes it new while still being familiar. This feels like the epitome of Fringe to me, and would HIGHLY recommend seeing this show! You don't have to be a super fan of the musical, or of Divine, to understand the show (but if you are, there are some brilliant subtle winks that you won't want to miss)!
