Cast and Crew
Maggie Thompson
Girl
Maggie is thrilled to be performing in Born of a Fairy Tale. Having a background in both acting and dance, she has been delighted to combine the two in this unique production. Growing up, Maggie danced many years in The Nutcracker and also performed in Peter and the Wolf and other productions with Stroia ballet company. Later, she received a B.F.A. in Acting from University of Minnesota, Duluth where her favorite productions were Rhinoceros and In a Jazz way. Recently, she has enjoyed getting involved with various theatre companies in the twin cities - her favorite credits including Juliet in Shakespeare and Juliet with Eden Prairie Players, a dancer in We are the Sea with Out of the Mist Celtic Theatre, and more. A huge thank you to everyone who made this production possible and thank you for supporting the arts!
Gretchen Weinrich
Director
Gretchen Weinrich has directed more than 30 plays and musicals in professional, amateur and educational theatre. Most recently, she directed The Little Prince at Theater in the Round, Grease at Children's Performing Arts, and The Miracle Worker at Northern Starz. Before that she worked in community theater and high school theater in Thief River Falls for 8 seasons. She got her professional start as a director with the now legendary production of Dealbreaker at the 2002 Fringe Festival, a musical featuring an office worker with super powers defeating a super villain overcome by the spirit of Howard Hughes.
Eli Sibley
Playwright and Producer
Eli Sibley (she/her) is a sarcastic and energetic theatre artist with a penchant for movement. Her love of travel has brought her and her work around the globe both as an artist and an educator. As a child, she would dance around the living room as her mother played The Entertainer and The Spinning Song, visit her grandmother on theatrical sets, and dictate stories on long train rides. She believes all of these to be the reason she creates today.
Bethany Meyer
Choreographer
Bethany has enjoyed choreographing in the twin cities area for the last 10 years. She specializes in contemporary and modern choreography, having had several original pieces produced. She loves choreographing for musical theatre because it engages her in deep thought about how the characters would express themselves in connection with the storyline. Working to bring stories to life through movement is always an extraordinary opportunity. Collaborating with Maggie, Gretchen and Eli for Born of a Fairy Tale has been exciting and fun!
