Director
Aaron (He, Him, His) received his bachelor's degree from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, majoring in computer science and theater. He currently works as a product owner at a finance company, as he pursues his MBA at the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management. His directing experiences include "Anne+Shae=4Ever" by Beth Ann Powers, "The Closed Door Disorder" by HDog Avery,"The Amish Project" by Jessica Dickey, and a devised piece "Words Matter" - a show that recounted a variety of experiences from four Asian American women, as they made their way through the ups and downs of college life.
Michelle de Joya
Playwright
Michelle de Joya (They, Them, Theirs, She, Her, Hers) is a Performer, Playwright and Teaching Artist based in the Twin Cities. Their writing has received many different forms of recognition, such as: a publication from their play ‘Filipino Cuisine’ in Playground Experiment’s 2021 Faces of America Monologue Anthology, a staged virtual workshop of their piece titled ‘Lilith’ for Kuma Kahua Theater and Conch Shell Productions’ RESET Series for New Plays by BIPOC Artists, and a commissioned short titled ‘Empty Orchestra’ for Theater Mu’s The REMIX Series. Additionally they were a member of the 2023 Exposed Brick “Through Our Eyes” Emerging Writer’s Cohort, a semi-finalist for Theater Mu's Mu Tang Clan Writing Incubator, a semi-finalist at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale for Playwriting, and recently received the upcoming ‘23-’24 Many Voice Mentorship at the Playwrights Center. Lastly, they’ve received monetary and artistic support from many notable theaters and organizations in addition to those listed above, such as: Minnesota State Arts Board, Pangea World Theater, Penumbra Theater Company, Theater Latte Da, and more. Keivin Vang
Benji
Keivin Vang (He, Him, His) is a professional actor based in the Twin Cities. With specialty in acting and dancing (B-boying), he's performed regionally for Carved Out Theatre’s Spring Awakening, SouthEast Asian Diaspora’s (SEAD) Stories from Naga, UMN TAD's season 2018-19 Lament of the Dead Things, Full Circle Theatre’s Fire in The New World, and Antigonick, and is the innovator of Asian Collective Theatre (ACT) the first Asian focused theatre group on UMN Twin Cities campus. He hopes to inspire and help Asian youth in pursuing a career in arts.
Tri Vo
Danie
Tri M. Vo (He, Him, His, "Anh") is a filthy gook punk. He works at a non-profit by day, called The SEAD Project, that serves Southeast Asian origin peoples impacted by legacies of war and displacement via arts, cultural preservation, and advocacy work. He recently completed the Puppet Lab artist residency at Open Eye Theater, producing his first original puppetry-centric theater piece called "Nhạc Punk Vàng", which translate to “Yellow/Gold Punk Music”. You may see Tri around town at offbeat concerts, in supporting performance arts roles, and struggling with the assimilation and gentrification of Asian American political relations via various forms of social cause work. His go-to karaoke crowd pleaser song can be either "So What" by Pink or "Fat Lip" by Sum 41, depending on who's in the room.
