Jamie Brickhouse Returns with I Favor My Daddy to Minnesota Fringe

after Dangerous When Wet (2018)

Rave review for in Twin Cities Pioneer Press:

“Must see. I Favor My Daddy is a touching and comedic memoir from a master storyteller. . . Laugh-out-loud funny, it tells a tale of a family chock-full of big personalities and, probably, possibly, homosexuality, lovingly laid atop an exploration of thorny questions like whether parents and children can ever truly know one another…the narrative is masterfully woven.”

Minnesota Praise for Dangerous When Wet: Booze, Sex, and My Mother (MN Fringe 2018)

“Uproariously funny raconteur who masterfully wields colorful descriptors and sculpts what feels like one absorbing long-form story. His mother looms like a specter throughout it all, as he uses masterful timing to make tales of his rise and fall deeply involving and insightful.”                    —Twin Cities-Pioneer Press

“A masterful gay solo performance and tribute to motherhood; Hilarious and wise. . .the performance is very, very funny. . .Brickhouse [has] a big heart, quick wit, and a story worth telling.  Dangerous When Wet emanates the vision of an artist who has masterfully honed his craft and richly apprehended hard won insight.  We see how Jamie inherited his love for life from his gloriously vibrant mother. What a tribute!”                                          —John Townsend, Lavender

“Jamie Brickhouse weaves a tale you couldn't tell just anybody’s mother, but my Mom and I both liked it a lot; Brickhouse spares neither his mother nor himself but it’s a hell of a story.”                                                                                                                                                                              —5 Stars in SingleWhiteFringeGeek
