🎵Dorothy in the potty 🎵

Never been to fringe fest before and kicked it off with a great show!! First off, the Bryant bowl theater was SICK and perfect for these Chicago folks! You could really tell they spend a lot of time rehearsing together and goofing off In the best way to get lots of humor and great acting out of each other the whole time. The music/light cues added so much to it, the music choices were the perfect supplement to the sketches!! I loved the audience included improv sketch and was excited to be included and have a fun part too 10/10 will come back to see fringe and communal beverage next time!!

Meh

While only half of the performers were there the sketches still felt a bit flat. I was unsure if it was an improv show sometimes as they performers didn't appear to know how to end sketches and stumbled over each others words. Some of the shorter sketches were funny, but about half fell flat.

Punchy and whimsical

Well written skits, and the performances brimmed with a manic and looney energy! Song choices were perfect in transitions and brought heart to one of funniest moments.

A nice sampling of sketch comedy, improv, short & long form skits. Very expressive performance, broken cuboids n all!

Welcome from Chicago!

Fringe the unexpected! Months after applying, half the cast is available for opening night? Don't worry. They dive in head first with the people available, and then they will add more actors as the Fringe continues. This group of traveling artists dove into their own and other cast members skits with grace and ease. I suspect it will get better and better. Make the choice to support traveling acts you won't see otherwise.

Excellent comic performers

Like any sketch comedy show, some sketches are great and others fall a little flat or don't quite know how to end. But there were definitely enough laughs to make it worth the watch, and that's with some of the regular performers missing for opening night. (More cast members will be joining them for future performances.) The three that were there were all great, though, with fantastic comedy chops.

Confident and Hilarious

The chemistry between the players was awesome and they brought a confidence to their performance that made it easier to immediately buy in to their offbeat but familiar premises. Best moments of the show were where the audience could guess the punchline but were caught off guard with a twist and elevation, turning humorous and generic into hilarious and original.
