There's nothing more fun at Fringe than short plays by unquestionably talented authors that you never get to actually see. These actors are well-cast and well-dressed for the roles.

3rd time is the charm?

This show has come to fringe 3 times in the last 10 years. Two previously were fine or watchable. I recognize fringe can not be the perfect vision. It's an event where you need to make things work. This didn't do that. Readthrough-like delivery, stagnant staging, a sound cue playing throughout the show. Didn't work for me.

Acting brings some sense to absurdism

The Zoo Story is a tough play to present and to understand (I've seen all three Fringe versions). Just two guys on - and around - the park bench. Jackson kept our attention from beginning to end, even though his actions and conversation were (mostly) absurd.

Zoo Story, perfect for a BLB staging

Zoo Story is among the handful of plays that I’ll see every time I can. Bryant Lake Bowl is a perfect venue for this. While I think a couple of sections could have benefited from more nuance, this was very well acted. I really appreciate when works by playwrights like Pinter or Albee are presented at the Fringe, both because I enjoy having some “straight plays” in my line-up and because it’s great they’re available to folks who have yet seen them. A+

Lived up to my hopes

I read this play over 50 years ago but had never seen it performed. The acting was fantastic. A must see if you have any interest in serious theater.

Great Production!

An intelligent, gripping production of a difficult play. The acting was outstanding, and the director used lighting and music to help create the pacing and mood changes that are so important to making this play work. Congratulations!

Must-See!!!

Incredible acting by Jackson Whitman and Micah Chartrand, and fantastic direction by Bella Maldonado. Definitely a must-see!

Intense and surprising!

I was on the edge of my seat for this show! It was funny, thoughtful and the actors were tremendous! I highly recommend seeing this two man play!

Intense and Thoughtful

I enjoyed this! There were parts that felt very uncomfortable, who hasn't been accosted on a park bench? I enjoyed this! I personally like to break up of all the "fringey" plays with some more classical works.

One act play with very strong acting.

Scary funny!

I had never read this Edward Albee play, but its a gem for dialogue and the verbal pictures, which Jackson Whitman paints and Micah Chartrand reflects! Excellent acting.

Captivating and captivated.

This is not an easy play to perform in. Jackson Whitman has the incredulous task of keeping our attention for almost the entirety of this production, and he does it with ease. I found myself engrossed in every word he said. Where Micah Chartrand had to be captivated with us. Not an easy thing to do when he has undoubtedly heard the dialogue a million times over. Whitman was incredible. Honest, real, and raw. There were times I forgot I was watching a show. Just a conversation between two people who couldn’t be less alike… or maybe they are more alike than the character, Peter, would like to admit. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and am stunned by this talent I didn’t know existed in the twin cities. Hoping to see more of Whitman soon. Great job by both.
