Cast and Crew
Mikela Anderson
Cast & ProducerMikela (she/her) is peepee in the pants excited to be involved in this completely wild as horses show with these insanely talented artists, friends and daytime lover, Naomi Brecht. While this is her first time ever being a “producer”, she has been involved onstage in various theatrical romps all the way from “Skater 4” in High School Musical Jr (in middle school) to recent faves like Arsinoë in School for Lies and Hermes in Calypso - as well as a brief toe-dip in costume design for Stage2’s Firebringer. Outside of her theatrical pursuits, she is often taking pictures of her mouth-breathing dog, Gooseberry, enjoying hammock time, and perhaps doing an art or a craft. She is so immensely grateful for everyone here - cast, crew and audience - for supporting this silly little show, and making her queer reality TV dreams come true (suck it, Netflix)! <3
Abagail Aune
CastAbby is beyond excited to be joining Small Waves for this epic, hilarious, groundbreaking, delicious improv fever dream! She just graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Acting emphasis. Notable roles include Daniel in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), Stephano in The Tempest, Gwendolyn in The Importance of Being Earnest, Alice in Decision Height (Boat Club Productions), all whilst founding and leading UMD’s improv team “Local Milf Crochet Club”! When Abby’s not pursuing her passion for theater and improv you can find her pondering at a local body of water, writing poetry, reading, and soaking in love, joy, and beauty with her friends. She’d like to thank everyone for their continued support of the arts and to encourage them to keep seeking creative outlets. “Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.” -Mary Oliver
Naomi Brecht
ProducerNaomi is a playwright, director, dramaturg and arts administrator in Minneapolis, MN. After working the festival the past two years, Naomi is thrilled to make her producing debut with Minnesota Fringe. She has supported productions in her various roles at the Guthrie Theater, Theater Latté Da, Minnesota Fringe Festival, Duluth Playhouse, Fearless Theatrical Creations, the Playwrights Foundation, and with Small Waves. Most recently, her 10-minute play “The Laser Tag Play” debuted in Fearless Five: Power at The Phoenix Theater. See more of her work at naomibrecht.com.
Della Christ
ProducerDella is Montana born and Minnesota trained, and is a proud college dropout. Fans might recognize Della from her childhood roles with Missoula Children’s Theatre as Bird in Hansel & Gretel, and Peasant Boy in The Pied Piper. She fell in love with commedia dell’arte as Brighella in Roseville Area High School’s production of La Danza del Incompetenza, and is delighted to be exploring commedia further with this production of Cabin Fever. If you know what a theatrical producer does, Della would love to hear from you. When she’s not trying to figure that out, you can find her Youth Directing with Fabric MPLS. Della would like to thank basically everyone she’s ever talked to, but especially her parents, wife Katie, Alex Schmuck, and Linsey Owen.
Katie Christ
Director & ProducerKatie has been directing since her younger siblings were old enough to act out “Rapunzel” on their bunk beds. Specifically an adaptation written (and color coded) by Katie. Based on the original Grimm’s fairy tale. Obviously. To her own (and no one else’s) surprise, she graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theater and English Literature from UMD in 2020. During that time, she was the dramaturg for These Shining Lives and Dear Reader, and assistant directed Machinal. For student-run Stage 2 Theater Company, she co-directed Bucket List: A Cabaret, and directed Trail to Oregon!, a Starkid musical. Unlike her siblings, who actively avoided being in Katie’s childhood productions, the cast of Trail to Oregon! reached out in 2021 to request a revival. Spring/Summer 2022 saw Katie co-founding production company Small Waves, figuring out how to self-produce theater, directing the aforementioned revival, getting a new day job, celebrating her 24th birthday, moving rental units, and, at the very end of August, marrying her best friend (and favorite co-director, co-founder, and co-producer): Della. She would like to thank everyone she’s ever made theater with (including her siblings), because she knows her work is only as good as the human connections that surround it.
Gillian Constable
Intimacy ConsultantGillian is pleased as punch to help these talented artists build a safe, consensual and exploratory framework for improvised intimacy! Gillian is a local actor and dialect coach and has worked with various TC theaters including Frank Theatre, Lyric Arts, Pro Rata, BARd Shakes, The Birth Play Project, Hypnic Jerk, Fearless Comedy, Park Square, St. Croix Festival, Lakeshore Players, and more. As her day job, Gillian is the Development Associate and Access Coordinator at Theater Latté Da.
Misha Suarez
CastMisha is super excited to be in their first Fringe Fest show!!! Recently, they played a German lesbian (understudy Luitger in The Lady Demands Satisfaction) and a Russian lesbian (Helene in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812), so they’re super excited to play another! They hope you enjoy the show!!
Madison Wagner
CastMadison’s been a Minnesota native her whole life. She studied Musical Theatre at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists in high school, alongside her extracurricular dance training. Madison holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and a minor in Dance, awarded with distinction from the University of Minnesota in Duluth. There, she worked as choreographer for the student-led production of Firebringer, collaborating with many of the castmates and dear friends involved in tonight's performance. Madison is extremely excited to work on her first production with Small Waves, and the wonderful cast and crew of Cabin Fever. When she's not on stage attempting to corral chaotic lesbians, she can be found fitting pointe shoes at Grand Jeté in St. Paul, or playing the world's greatest improv game, Dungeons & Dragons.
