Cast and Crew
Cleo Torres
producer, creator, actor
Cleo Torres (she/her) is a performing artist who brings mastery of pole, burlesque, drag, stilt walking, and dance to the stages and festivals of the Midwest. She has been a dancer since she could first stand, from ballet classes her mother hoped would tire her out (spoiler: they didn’t) to cumbias and norteño polkas at family gatherings and two-step and waltzes at a small-town bar with her parents. In the decades since, Cleo has explored dozens of dance styles and expanded her repertoire to related disciplines including stilt walking, pole dancing, and musical theatre. She is also a dance fitness instructor who teaches Zumba and Oula at Lake Harriet Upper through MPS Community Ed. This first-time MN Fringe producer is excited to explore the power of movement with you. Visit cleotorresdance.com for more!
Howdy Partner
producer, creator, actor
Howdy Partner Dance is the brain/love child of Minneapolis queer country dance instructor, drag king, emcee, and all-around dose of delight, Emily Mae (she/her), aka Buck Short (he/him). You can find them everywhere: Eagles 34, Resource Mpls, Lush Lounge, Queerdo, Solcana Fitness, and all around the state. Keep up with them (if you can) here: https://www.instagram.com/howdypartnerdance/
Dirty Chai
creator, actor
Born and raised in New York, Dirty Chai (she/her) moved to the Twin Cities, bringing her Caribbean roots and love of dance with her. A Monthly Nudie Nubies winner and active member of the local burlesque community, she's incredibly excited to share her love of soca with Minnesota. Growing up, soca was the soundtrack to every family gathering that always led to high-energy dancing, and she's thrilled to bring that same joy, movement, and sense of community to this year's Minnesota Fringe Festival. Top up your Chai at https://www.instagram.com/dirty_chai_burlesque/
MX TRX
creator, actor
A collector of hobbies and different arts, MX_TRX (he/they) is a lover of movement. When you aren't seeing him dancing on or around a pole, you will likely find him wiggling and body waving out in the wild. This little crow is excited to share space and bring some of his glimmers to you all. By glimmers they're talking about dance moves. Experience his joy at MN Fringe, then follow him to Vivid Black Paint, Alchemy After Hours, and byond: https://www.instagram.com/allmicksedup/
Sandi Flahn
creator, actor
Sandi Flahn (she/they) is an actor, dancer and singer based in Minneapolis, MN. She very excited to be making her MN Fringe debut! They were previously in More4Play at Threshold Theatre, as well as A Christmas Carol at the Guthrie. More Information

Dust off your thinking caps, shine up your dancing shoes, and git thee up to the get-down!

Happy Valley Regional is planning a school dance, and the committee has agreed on everything ... except the playlist. Cleo wants to cumbia all night, Buck wants us all to two-step instead, Mick is devoted to hip-hop, Sandi just wants to salsa, and Chai insists that soca is the life of the party.  Will they really be able to agree on music that everyone can dance to?

Come to Happy Valley Regional's Boot-Scootin' Booty-Poppin' Cuntry Ho-Down to find out! Expect dance, comedy, and most of all--audience participation.
