Good if you like Cyrano!
A fringe show in verse is a rare treat. Madison was a standout performer, confident and nuanced and fun to watch. Her love for Roxanne was believable and heartbreaking. The cutting was well done, though the expository scene in the beginning was chaotic and hard to follow. Additionally, sometimes things weren't well staged for the venue. I unfortunately missed most of (spoilers for a very old story!) Cyranos death because someone was standing between us. Put your back to the vom and everyone can enjoy the show!

Thoughtful, but repetitive
A very prescient and thoughtful story, but it felt like the two main characters were stating their same thesis statement over and over. The two leads did very well, but struggled to fill the whole Rarig Thrust. If this was performed at a more intimate venue, I think it could've been electric. The prophetic dreams was my favorite part of the play, and I wish I could've seen the more subtle reactions to that relevantion

I love when some so silly turns into something moving. I cried (maybe too much?) at the end. Highly recommend to everyone, but know there's some constant- but-low-stakes audience interaction

Important play that didn't stick the landing
I love a noir thriller and was very excited for this after enjoying prior work from Hey Rube! Unfortunately, this didn't work for me. Its hard to walk the line of withholding enough information to be mysterious but not so much that the audience is confused...and unfortunately I walked away still unsure of the characters motivations or relationships.

Now THAT'S an ensemble!
Beautiful staging of a classic. Enthralling. The trapeze work was beautiful. Tightest ensemble work I've seen at fringe in years. They were all like a well oiled machine (which, yeah is the point, so major kudos). I miss the scenes that were cut, but, hey, it's fringe. Unfortunately I felt pulled out of the narrative during the songs and wish they had kept the momentum up

Disappointing and Unrehearsed
By far the shortest play I've ever seen at fringe (25 minutes!), and yet both actors called for lines multiple times. Both seemed like seasoned actors, yet they struggled with the alley staging and spent most of the play with their back to whichever side of the audience had fewer people. Was it blocked for a proscenium stage or was it just not blocked? The script felt like a riff on Waiting for Godot, but didn't bring much new or creative to the table. I wish I could say the twist at the end wasn't obvious from the start, but it absolutely was. Props to them for a gorgeous setpiece and well chosen songs to bookend the play.

Fun but Underrehearsed
Some very delightful bones, but it felt like a first draft script and not enough rehearsal for that talented cast to confidently perform. The script contradicted itself at multiple points,was sometimes hard to follow, and while the random Italian vocab was funny, it means you have to learn how to pronounce those words! If the finale song is all about singing in harmony, could we sing it in harmony instead of listing different notes? The Castrato was a standout performer and I loved all of her songs, but was left disappointed she didn't get more stage time. I hope these talented performers come back to fringe. I will be there again if so. But I also hope they put a little more time and care into it.

Incredible Examination of a Classic
Supermoon is back with another beautiful, cerebral, surprising, intense work, this time it's literally the statue of liberty as Nora. Their creative staging literalizes and physicalizes the drama of Ibsen, making it more absurd and at points more dramatic. Every time the guitar riffed and they flashed a picture of men literally constructing the woman...chills. Fantastic use of tech, video, music, and movement. However, due to the video element, the first half of the play was mostly played to house left. Id recommended sitting in the center section or near the vom

Tapeze is BACK, baby!!!
I hope you've spent a year preparing yourselves for another wild ride because Tapeze has been putting in the work. Teenagers doing aerials? A sexy cowboy mime whose scene partner is a broken chair? Tap dancing woodchucks? This show has it all and delivers. Just such such such a fun way to spend an hour at fringe. Bravi!!!
