A piece seemingly done by family and friends that has heart meanders too much, even for absurdism. It apes a ton of the spirit and setting of Waiting for Godot without the profoundness. The George and Lenny-like relationship of the two leads was one-sided by meanness and caused me to dislike both, one for only being unkind and the other being a wet towel. I extend grace to all performers given this script, especially the lead stepping in for two performances. The young performers who delivered plot devices was very excited to be there and was thus hard to understand, but has a bright future if they keep going! I'm glad to have seen the breadth that Fringe offers and hope this company keeps working on their craft.

I liked it, whatever it was!

I walked in with no idea what to expect, but it had me intrigued immediately. The dialogue seesawed between overly philosophical quandaries to shockingly mundane in a way that I found surprisingly funny. Shout out to the young actor, who had some absolutely fantastic line delivery that had the whole audience laughing out loud.

Disappointing and Unrehearsed

By far the shortest play I've ever seen at fringe (25 minutes!), and yet both actors called for lines multiple times. Both seemed like seasoned actors, yet they struggled with the alley staging and spent most of the play with their back to whichever side of the audience had fewer people. Was it blocked for a proscenium stage or was it just not blocked? The script felt like a riff on Waiting for Godot, but didn't bring much new or creative to the table. I wish I could say the twist at the end wasn't obvious from the start, but it absolutely was. Props to them for a gorgeous setpiece and well chosen songs to bookend the play.
