Improvised Love Is Blind--Minnesota Fringe Edition

I've never actually seen the Netflix show, but..

I only know about Love is Blind from cultural references; I don't watch "reality" TV and its ilk. That said, many members of my troupe wanted to see this show and I love a good spoof. I'm so happy we went! As you probably expect, the whole thing is improvised, so you'll get a different show each time, though they obviously have an intended structure. The actors really embraced their weird backgrounds! My only minor criticism is that the final scene when they deliver their vows and decide yes/no to the overall "will we go through with this?" question felt disconnected, since both the vows and the yes/no were picked separately. We had at least one couple who drew completely wholesome, pure, sweet vows (no jokes!) from the audience suggestion bin, but then drew "no" from the randomized yes/no decision bin, so it wasn't consistent. But hey, that's improv!

I loved it! Such versatile, funny and quick cast members- I would watch them do anything! I had never seen the actual Love is Blind, but I loved the performance so much, I watched an episode later that night - this show was so much better!

The Netflix version needs to take notes because this show was absolutely amazing! The witty improv and quick choices had me laughing the entire time. I appreciated that the show moved at a steady pace while including audience members and really showing the power of authentic, raw, fun and artistic improv. Even though these choices were in the spot, they felt like they were lines memorized for weeks. I really enjoyed the performances of the character Misty and Spaniel ( I think I’ll leave it there) . Must see!

Dating reality shows might be the pits, but LIB *fringe edition* was spectacular!!!

Love IS BLIND

Capturing the essence of a hit Netflix show and turning it into a hilarious improv show just under an hour is no easy feat, but the cast NAILED IT. The pacing and three "acts" were very well fleshed out and kept the crowd on the edge of their seats! Each cast member created their own unique character (make sure to get there a few minutes early to fill out prompts for them) and it was awesome seeing them hit it off (or crash and burn) with their counterparts. Will they find love or heartbreak? Who knows, but hilarity will ensue!

They understood the assignment!!

Wow, this show was clean, tight, and full of nonstop laughs!! The actors did a fantastic job of building on the gems left by their counterparts and finding ways to make each moment that much more hilarious. Each character had such a clear and distinct life arc and I love how completely the actors committed to each of the bits. I don’t think I’ll ever stop laughing at “God is breaking up with you”.

Sure Thing! (Ding!)

If you love improv, you will probably like this show. The performance I attended was nearly a sellout. Most of the audience laughed uproariously, but I may have missed the joke. Or jokes. Maybe it would have helped if I liked Reality TV. Which I don't. Nonetheless, the performers had some skill, and they sure seemed to be having fun.

This show does a great job skewering the (frankly grotesque) reality show Love is Blind for everything it is. The cast is also game for anything, and kept a steady stream of laughs coming all hour. Don't stay in watching the Netflix show - go out and watch this improv show instead!

Improvised Characters form a Lasting Relationship

This show brilliantly satirizes the TV show “Love is Blind” through hilarious improvised scenes that draw from audience suggestions. Performers instantly create characters that are sustained through the show and form a strange dramatic arc, building a strange relationship with the audience that feels cartoonishly natural. Nobody, including the performers, know the outcome of the relationships as the improvised interactions and a great fun of the show is that the romance can succeed or fail, but regardless of the romantic result, the performance is sure to be a hilarious success.

Laughter Searching for Love in Minnesota

While I've never watched LIB, the improv version confirmed my suspicions and gave me an hour of laughs. It was nice to have a whole season of LIB condensed into one hour. Great show & fun cast. Be sure to check them out!

turns out Love is Blind is a great framing device for improv! the cast was great and we were actually so invested in ronathan and corey's love story! would love to see this again since each show is something new!

Having never seen the show, this improv really made me laugh. I especially like the three male characters. I really appreciated that they "wound" up with two gay couples. I really enjoyed the actor who was the "lead singer of an ABBA cover band." Thank you for the gun of the show.
