Eric Heiberg
Producer, DirectorEric Heiberg started his improv journey in Austin, Texas in 2005. When he was younger he spent his time listening to Houston skater-metal, but nowadays he mostly oscillates between emo, classical, soul, and experimental ambient electronica. He is so damn proud to be directing this Local Music Scene cast who so deftly melds creativity, comedy and music into a single, lovely entertainment bouquet. You can see him performing with Again & Again, Step-Family Dental, Heaven's Precious Angels, ComedySportz, and That Felt Good.
Holly Brooks
Producer, ImproviserHolly Brooks is a local improviser, mom, She-E.O., and general Little Guy. For the last three years she’s been doing improv all over the Twin Cities in stuff like Strike Theater’s House Team, Canned Laughter, Improvised Love Is Blind s3, and whoever else will take her! Holly has been so relieved to step into her truth of Not Being A Musician after decades of being the Drummer’s Sister or the Lead Guy’s Wife. She would like to thank her loved ones for “supporting art” by reminding them that now THEY have to come to HER shows, suckaz.
Sarah Arnold-Simondet
Producer, ImproviserSarah Arnold-Simondet (she/her) started improvising in college and no one has been able to stop her in the 15 years since. She has been involved in The Local Music Scene for 10 years in varying roles from improviser to director to producer. Sarah got a boombox in her room at age 6 rocking out to albums about learning your ABCs. Her music taste has only slightly evolved. You can see Sarah perform with CSz Twin Cities - Home of ComedySportz, SAPS, Heaven's Precious Angels, Manners & Misconduct, THE PAiNTERS, and more.
Philip Simondet
Producer, ImproviserPhilip Simondet (he/him) has been an improviser for over a decade and a musician for more than two. As a boy, he would listen to albums for hours, reading the lyrics in the CD booklet. He created this show to give the lyrics the respect they deserve. He likes The Mountain Goats, AJJ, and anything with clever lyrics. His own band, The Tire Fires, is a mostly acoustic folk punk rock duo. Karyn Alissa
ImproviserKaryn Alissa (she/her) is an improviser, actor and teaching artist based in Minneapolis. Karyn loves to sing and runs a monthly musical improv jam here in the Twin Cities. She started doing improv in Washington DC in 2016 at The Washington Improv Theater and has performed all up and down the east coast - plus Arizona! Karyn can be seen performing around the Twin Cities with PHXDC, Vortex, Star Trek: the next Improvisation and Unmatched: an improv show inspired by dating stories that she created and produces. Jill Bernard
ImproviserJill Bernard (she/her) has been performing with ComedySportz-Twin Cities since 1993, and was a founding member of HUGE Theater in Minneapolis. Her one-woman musical improv piece, Drum Machine, has been featured in over forty improv festivals. She was first chair violin in the Evanston Youth Orchestra, because it was alphabetical. She has taught and rocked the improv in Argentina, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and in over forty of the United States; and also on an episode of MTV “Made.” She created and maintains www.twincitiesimprov.com
Danica McDonald
ImproviserDanica McDonald went to college for music but sold out by the second year because being a professional musician sounded really hard, actually. Still, she got a general music degree and now gets to use that to sing in local choirs. She is currently in a weird music rut since King Gizzard got taken off of Spotify and has been watching The Real Housewives Franchise instead of listening to music at work, but has historically liked funk and country music. Outside of music and improv, Danica works in corporate America as a developer, runs, sews, and pets cats.
Adam Mellerup
ImproviserAdam Mellerup is an improviser born into a family of Musicians. A mother with the voice of angels who played the keys, a father with the guitar prowess only 50+ years of experience can yield, and a brother naturally gifted at drums and piano. Sure he did every choir and show choir from middle school through high school, but he never got to "Jam". So he turned to comedy. Adam teaches and performs improv in the twin cities with groups such as Vortex, canned laughter, improv after dark, hearts on fire, Love's Labour's Won! And more!
Linc Owens
ImproviserLinc Owens has been an improviser in the Twin Cities for over 5 years and has been singing in the shower since he was in utero (the original shower). Starting his improv journey just before COVID lockdown, his impeccable timing has been going strong ever since. He loves concept albums such as Pink Floyd’s The Wall, The Protomen, Good Kid M.A.A.D City, and loves those 70s songs where halfway through someone starts talking over the track such as All About Love by Earth Wind & Fire or I Miss You by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes feat. Teddy Pendergrass. He performs improv with DoctaBrothaMista, Blackout Improv, Soup of the Day and really anyone else who will have him. He is of average height and has come to terms with it.
Robyn Jamner
Musical GuestRobyn Jamner (they/she) is a genderfluid, genrefluid songwriter and poet. They approach songwriting much like the paleontologist they wanted to be as a kid: digging deep and assembling whatever they find. Robyn plays around the Twin Cities with her live band, the Soft Skills, a dynamic group of performers with influences that range from jazz to folk to shoegaze.

Musical GuestDogpile is a mess. Folksy, country-like, and roots music adjacent - they can’t quite keep it all straight.
Brendan Wells
Musical GuestWhat can be said of a man who blends organ and drum machine sensibilities with the wit and charm of his semi-legendary punk band Uranium Club? Perhaps he’s here to entertain and confuse.

History of The Local Music Scene:
The first Local Music Scene show was February 2014, and we've featured nearly 100 local musicians over the last 12 years.
The first shows were a summer-long 11 am residency at an art gallery, which was the living/dning room of a 2 bedroom apartment above an italian restaurant. Our "green room" was the host artists' kids' room. There were only 6 seats in the house, and they were never full.
The Local Music Scene was a monthly staple at the Bryant Lake Bowl Theater until Covid shut everything down. In each show, a local musical guest is featured. They perform 4 original songs and, inbetween the improvisers create scenes inspired by the lyrics/vibe/etc.
After Fringe, we will be begin a recurring run at The Others Workshop Collective (1729 N 2nd St, Minneapolis, MN 55411)
