1 Hour Left to Live: A One Puppet Show by That Felt Good

Amazing puppetry and storytelling!

It starts with a dark premise, but the audience suggestions bring a new story to every show! The puppeteer is truly a master; you hardly notice she's there, even when she's not obscured. She really makes the puppet come to life, and the rest of the improv troupe interacts with the puppet in the same way. There's a weird transition just prior to the end of the show with a stand-up comedian doing a ~10-minute set that feels unrelated to the rest of the show. It sets up the next and final scene, but it felt out of place. The comic wasn't bad -- they had some good material -- it just wasn't what I came to see. My best guess is that it was a time-filler and/or a rest period for the puppeteer. Overall though, very funny show! If there weren't a hundred other shows to see, I would see this one again.

I had no idea what to expect, but this show exceeded my hopes. A funny and skilled puppeteer (such emotion conveyed through the little puppet!), and a hilarious cast that leapt into fast-thinking action - I laughed so hard at the incredibly athletic "dance bowling". At times it was also sweet and nostalgic which always gets me too. I would absolutely go again!

I have never been to a improv show involving puppetry but can I say WOW! I must start with the utilization of music to create a true feeling of vignettes, allowing seamless transitions and really feeding into the story. Additionally, The actors bounced off of “yes, and” in a way I haven’t witnessed before. Everyone was so open to choices and nothing felt like dead time or dead zone. Such a great team, great musician, and all around awesome fringe show. 10/5 kitties

Fast-paced improv w/ PUPPET

Talented crew delivered a riotous series of quick vignettes within a framework of the puppet's life in review before passing and in the afterlife. Standouts included the priest, puppeteer, and stand up comic.

I really adored this puppet

I adored the puppet and her talented puppeteer and the rest of the cast was great, too, bringing alive many delightfully funny moments--also, the musician playing live to accompany the show was terrific

Such a talented troupe!

Wow! There is a lot to love about this show. The actors clearly have a lot of experience performing together and felt so in sync throughout the entire show. I was especially blown away by how alive the puppet felt at all times and how many fun ways the actors played with physicality surrounding the puppet. The live musician did a fantastic job of setting the mood and it was so perfect I kept forgetting that was all improvised as well! I only wish the standup comedian felt more connected to the overall show’s story instead of an 10 minute intermission. Great job everyone!

A Delicious Improv Sandwich

There is SO much love about this show from start to finish. For starters, the puppetry was absolutely incredible, and getting to watch the little felt monster engage in space work literally never got old. On top of that, all of the human improvisers were brilliant in their many roles, the live music was phenomenal, and the standup guest was a fantastic addition to the narrative. A terrific pick for fans of improv, puppets, and rooting for weird little blue guys.

The show will change every night. In the hands of this improv troupe, I have no doubt that each night will to wild and wonderful!

I love Improv w/ a Puppet!

Such a fun show! Recommend to anybody who even remotely likes or appreciates improv. There were lulls at times but when this group hits with a bit they hit hard. The puppetry was excellent and very fun to watch. Makes it better than just any ol improv show.

Dying to See This!

I love puppets. I love improv. I wasn't sure how the two could work together — until 1 Hour Left to Live proved me wrong. A puppet on his deathbed spins a brand-new life story every night, mixing flashbacks, audience participation, and stand-up guest sets into something genuinely delightful and hilarious. The puppeteer is incredible — you forget to question how it's happening and just enjoy the ride. The improv puppet mashup you didn't know you needed!

So glad I saw this show!

This show was late coming off the wait list, but you would hardly know it from how smooth everything felt. I was especially impressed with how natural the main puppeteer was able to do improv while also handling a puppet. My eyes were always on the puppet and not the puppeteer, which is exactly the kind of muppet magic that makes shows like this so fun. Can't wait to see more of this team!

Best improv I’ve ever seen.

Definitely a contender for my best fringe pick. Such a strong troop, nobody overshadowed anybody, fucking hilarious. JUST a theory but the comedian in the middle of the show, it felt like they’d plug a different one every show, which if that’s the case I think that’s so cool. The puppeteer carried the show, everybody was amazing, but they have SERIOUS talent. Hilarious. The perfect person for the part. I think this was so well thought out. Music was great. I think the energy for a 1pm was so high. Great. Work.

Just brilliant!

This is one of the best improv shows I have seen in a very long time (the standup was very funny, too). The improvisers were physical and playful, and everyone dove into the insanity with gusto. It made my heart very happy.

This made me want to have a puppet!

This show was genuinely such a joy to be able to see! All of the actors who were there were able to make me laugh and never let their costars be stuck in a scene for very long. I didn't know that it was going to be improv when I went to see it, normally I am not a big improv fan, however this show definitely made me realize how fun it can be to watch! 5 Kitties for sure!!!

Fun Puppet Improv!

Loved the play between the performers, and the framing devices and puppet work are fantastic! It had been incredibly too long since I had seen a good improv show, and I've never quite seen one like this! Kudos to the puppeteer for subtlety, pathos, and existential cuteness! My favorite kind! 😽

Hilarious improv

Absolutely hilarious improv. Some highlights for me included the puppetry, musical improv songs, and keyboardist. The stand up routine in the middle was great but felt a bit out of place. Overall such an amazing experience - I will be recommending this to everyone.

Big Laffs right when you need em

Strong improvisers who warmed up and found their groove as the show went on, regularly building on gags from previous scenes to great effect.
