Maybe overhyped?

Look, I had a great time at the show. I went in with no expectations. I was intrigued by the preview performance and talking with the two performers afterwards. They're absolutely iconic in-person. They flew in from Berlin to put this show on, and they deserve our support! They've sold out at least two of their five shows. Everyone raves about this show. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't understand the hype. The girls are funny, have great comedic timing, and are very talented at their musical improv, but it was one extended bit. I kept expecting it to pivot to a new bit, but it didn't. It overstayed its welcome for me. I understand this is improv and every show is different, so the quality of the show is largely dependent on the quality of the suggestions. We had some good ones, but maybe other audiences gave more unhinged suggestions that lived up to the hype. Overall, worth seeing and supporting, but I'm not sure where all the hype came from.

essential Fringe stuff right here. just dead brilliant clown and audience work, with incredible pacing and performances. you will laugh, you will be a little scared, and you might even have moments of reflection. make this a priority.

Spooky Silly Fun!

This is my favorite show I've seen at Fringe this year. What a unique concept, and the use of the space was impeccable. The actors were so in synch with each other that they truly seemed like they were two halves of one whole being. I laughed the entire time and even walked away having learned a little more about myself. What more could you ask of a 50-minute clowning act? HIGHLY recommend!!!

Afraid I Can’t Recommend This

I’m not much into physical comedy, but there was not too much in this show, and it was good. The characters themselves were also interesting. Unfortunately, I didn’t find the overall show very interesting. It seemed like they took 15 minutes of material and stretched it into an hour. To be fair, most of the sold out audience seemed to love it.

Vacuous Masterpiece

This show was quite possibly the dumbest thing I have seen ever (complimentary). It was absolutely brain dead clowning that delivered a laugh a minute until it veered into the realm of poignancy. After all, if Stacy and Gunta can make it, then maybe there’s hope for me too. If this doesn’t win Fringiest show of the festival, I am either in for a great week or I will riot in the streets.

My 5 rating for Zombie Clowns? Go figure!

Creativity 5+; Production Value 5+; Interest (subjective) 4 This was creativity incarnate. And check my 5 rating, I typically don't choose improv, clowning, nor audience participation works, but a pre-fringe review suggested that we locals might want to welcome our German friends to learn about zombies. Well, OK! And I'm so glad I did. The acting, costumes & makeup, and improv were accessible, fun, and meaningful. My only suggestion? Just a bit more of a narrative arc tieing the show description "post war corporate professionals ... workshop." Welcome to Minnesota and we hope to see you again.

Never thought absurdity could be so scary…

DON’T BE SCARED is a wonderfully weird piece of clowning that taps heavily into pure uninhibited creativity. The duo’s razor sharp improv skills and expressive facial reactions keep keep the performance engaging while tying in audience interactions to drive the action. The shared dynamic between Stacy and Gunta keeps the chaos moving forward and I rate this as a truly fun, uniquely Fringe experience.

I was a little scared

A hilarious and moving dark clown show. Very weird, very silly, but also like real. These two performers are the real deal and this show is a don't miss!

Spooky and Hilarious

A delightful mix of improv, clowning, and cultural touchstones (musical score). The audience was baffled but also laughing non-stop. Brought a BFF who had never been to Fringe, and it was the perfect introduction. Hope to see this Band Practice duo back again next year!

I couldn’t stop laughing!

This show is a delight! I giggled so hard that I’m surprised I wasn’t rolling on the ground by the end. If you only see one Fringe show, THIS IS IT!!

A Fringe Favorite

As someone who has seen 10 shows so far this Fringe I can confidently say this is one of my favorites. I knew from the previews it was going to be funny but it far exceeded my expectations in every way. Such high energy and commitment from both actors throughout combined with fun physicality and perfect synchronicity in the improvised moments. My biggest surprise was how fantastic their voices were! Definitely a show you won’t want to miss.

Don’t be scared of the zombie clowns

Great clowning, great improv, great music, all done with so very little—little color, little light, few props. Hilarious, and a surprisingly moving delight.

This Duo Shares One Brain Cell

Y'all, this is a weird one. No, listen to me, this one is WEIRD. This is why I come to Fringe. Rarely have I ever seen two performers so in sync.As my title suggests, these braindead zombies are sharing their one braincell to enthrall and delight you. It takes a minute to really settle in, but becomes electric. A must-see for all you freaks out there.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Fun opening sequence, with a clever resolution. Relied, perhaps a bit too much, on homages to popular music and audience participation. But a nice dynamic between the performers, and they kept the ball in the air. Recommended. (Likely to sell out).

A spooky ridiculous delight

I was intrigued but unsure on the idea of spooky clowning improv, but my God was I glad that I went! My favorite show of The Fringe so far. There was a physical stunt they did near the beginning that really hooked me, I'm still grinning over it now hours later. Really engaging show from start to finish, I hope I can see it again!

Be scared if you DON'T. Band Practice's work is unlike anything I've ever seen and I'm so thankful I caught a show. Their voices, their physicality, the way they move and sing together, the improvisation that blended so well with the rest of the show ... it made for my best Fringe experience yet this year.

NEED these clowns at the Q3 corporate retreat

DO NOT miss this show! As a fellow corporate professional myself (not-yet-zombified), I only wish Stacey and Günther were on my team...absolutely phenomenal improv work, clever dynamic lighting, and overall genuinely impactful content. The structural premise of the show works incredibly well.

Night and Day dreaming about Gunther & Stacey

I’ve been night and day dreaming about Gunther & Stacey ever since I saw the show. I’m scared, delighted, and ready to confront more of my fears with laughter, singing, lightness, and even some darkness. Strong performance. Thank you for an incredible show. Looking forward to next time.

Pure talent, pure fringe ;could use more structure

It definitely took me a solid 20 minutes to "get it," but once I did, I was able to focus on the brilliant performances by the leads. Phenomenal chemistry, excellent improvisation skills, and a Fringe classic. I'd teetered on giving this 4.5 stars because it could use a bit more structure to make its points, but I reconsidered because the performance skills really are that impressive. Ich liebe die Finsternis. ;)

Would give 6/5 cats if I could

This is the kind of adventurous art that Fringe Festivals are all about. I left the theater buzzing with excitement ready to tell everyone about the incredible show I just saw.

I'd give it 10 kitties!

This show is currently(and likely will stay) my favorite show at the Fringe this year. I don't want to spoil the experience by saying everything I loved about it here, but I will say these two performers have insane chemistry and connection. This show is funny, competing, warm, dark, engaging. It's some of the best clowning I've seen. DO NOT MISS IT AND DON’T BE SCARED!

Clowning at its best!

Clowning is an incredibly difficult performance style. But this show gave a flawless demonstration of pure excellence in the craft. Their improvisation, with each other, with the audience, was consistently brilliant- moving completely in sync with each other from start to finish. And using the space to its maximum potential. The musical elements only enhanced their connection with the audience. Highly recommend.

These two dark clowns had me rapt the whole time. Don’t Be Scared is a blast. It was exciting, felt dangerous, and sweet. Good games built throughout and delightful to feel the connection between two performers. As “dark” as you might assume the show to be, it’s quite accessible and warm. I can’t wait to see what they do next: good stuff ahead for these talented professionals!

A Dreadful Delight!

Hats off (and lights too) to the two performers who put on this production. An interactive, improvisational show full of whimsy and woe. From the start I was gripped and tickled. Needing to know what was coming next, but couldn’t ever guess. The clowning was brilliant. The dialogue was simple yet impactful. The interaction was skillful and the dynamic and teamwork of these two kept everyone delighted and along for the ride from start to finish. I was truly impressed at the balance between dark and light (almost as if that’s the entire point of the show ;) impromptu musical numbers, miming, referential humor and meaning within that is joyful and haunting all at the same time. Go see this show. Bravo!

Best use of the Xperimental

Or maybe it ties with Latin Popi. I've never seen a cast enter a performance space like these two exceptionally talented people did. Zombies/clowns/music/audience participation? All there and appreciated. I was intrigued by the preview and I'm so glad I decided to check out the performance. A show dealing with fear and the darkness around us is perfect in today's reality. I only wish I knew what the two performers looked like so I could congratulate them on a wonderful experience!

I loved this show. Delightfully Fringe-y, in the best sense. I hope we see these two talented performers again soon.

I love it more than a baby in the snow!

Need your fears quelled? Look no further than these zombies with immaculate harmonies! Amazing physicality--surprising from first entrance to last goodbye--I only wish I could take them home with me to save me from all the dark.

I was intrigued by the preview, so I thought I would give this a chance. SO glad I did. Inventive, Weird, disturbing and downright funny! These 2 are so talented and sing beautifully. Give these out of towners a chance - you won't regret it.
